The "Edit" Menu

  • Tip: You can also access this menu by right-clicking somewhere in the mainwindow once a toolpath has been selected...

Copy and paste

  • Using the menu "Edit" -> "Copy" or alternatively pressing "Ctrl" + "c" you can copy selected toolpaths...
  • Using the menu "Edit" -> "Paste" or alternatively pressing "Ctrl" + "v" you can paste the copied toolpaths:
    • If you paste using the menu the copied toolpaths will be put to the right of the original ones...
    • If you paste using "Ctrl" + "v" the copied toolpaths will be put at the current mouse position...
    • Pasted toolpaths will be grouped automatically (if more than one). See below for more information about groups...

Delete

  • Using the menu "Edit" -> "Delete" or alternatively pressing "Del" key you can delete selected toolpaths...

Group and Explode group

  • You can put multiple toolpaths into a group to make sure every action done to one object will also be applied to every other object of the group...

Move

  • Menu "Edit" - "Move" moves selected toolpaths...
  • There are 2 ways to set the translation distance or target position:
    • You can enter the translation values at the X / Y controls of the dialog box...
    • Or you can just click at the desired target position:
      • Translation origin (orange cross) is by default located at the center of your selection.
So after clicking the objects will appear centered around your cursor position...
      • If necessary you can change the translation origin by right-clicking. So if you e.g. right-click at the left, lower corner of your selection then the next left-click will put the left, lower corner to your cursor position...

Rotate

  • Menu "Edit" - "Rotate" rotates selected toolpaths...
  • Again there are 2 ways to set the rotation angle:
    • You can enter the angle directly using the angle control of the dialog box..
    • Or you can rotate the selection by dragging it with pressed left mouse button...
    • The pivot point (orange cross) is by default located at the center of your selection...
    • You can change the pivot point with a mouse click...

Scale

  • Using menu "Edit" - "Scale" you can scale selected toolpaths...
  • A dialog box will appear where you can enter the desired scaling factor...

Mirror horizontally and vertically

  • You can mirror selected toolpaths along their center line using menu "Edit" - "Mirror horizontally" or "Mirror vertically"...

Nesting

  • This function creates a rectangular pattern of copies of your selected toolpaths...
  • The quantity of copies along the X- and Y-axis as well as the distance between them can be set using the dialog box...

Machining order

  • There are 2 ways to set the machining order for your toolpaths.
One of it is the dialog box you can open using menu "Edit" - "Machining order":

  • You can then set the order by clicking at the toolpaths - the following buttons change the behaviour of this function:

    • If you activate this button and then click at a toolpath it will be put at the very beginning of the CNC program...
    • The toolpath will be tagged with a red "1"...
    • The previously first toolpath will become second and so on...

    • This function sets the machining order the way you click at the toolpaths. First click -> first toolpath, second click -> second toolpath...
    • The first toolpath will be tagged as "1", the second as "2" and so on...
    • The function will continue counting with the largest number if you reactivate it...

    • This button resets any toolpath you click at to "automatic"...
    • It will be tagged with an "A" and its machining order will be decided by Estlcam...
    • However: automatic toolpaths will always be machined after every toolpath with a positive number (see above) and before every toolpath with a negative number (see below)...

    • This is the counterpart to "Forward" - it counts from program end instead of program start...
    • So you first click at the last, then at the secondlast and so on...
    • The last toolpath will be tagged as "-1", the secondlast as "-2"...
    • This function will continue with the smallest number if your reactivate it...

    • The counterpart to "At beginning" - it puts a toolpath at the very end...
    • The toolpath will be tagged "-1"...
    • The previously last toolpath will become secondlast and so on...

    • This button resets everything to "automatic"...
